Ghoul School

If you're patient, this game isn't too difficult. I only died like two or three times in my actual run through. the most annoying guys were the little ones on the floors. The real challenge lies in the navigation and figuring out what to do/where to go. The game really leaned into being silly, it wasn't too far in before you caught these monsters just assimilating into school life. For example, you get to see aliens hanging out in the cafeteria with chefs hats, and jock aliens hanging out in gym and lifting weights. The school itself didn't have much of a personality and the room numbers made no sense to me. I remember going up floors and it would be like rm 31, rm 33, rm 35. it would have been better to have all the third floor rooms start with 3, surely. I did like the small bits of story telling like how you could see where the nurses office turned into the alien research lab. Thank god for unlimited ammo, the ray gun was very bad. Getting the one hit kills from the zapper once you got it was pretty satisfying though. The enemies were...weird, not quite sure where the grease monkeys came from and they didn't fit the rest of the theme well at all. All in all it seemed like the type of game where they had more fun making it compared to the fun had playing it. That being said it was at least interesting.

head on home
